Meeting at the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia

Representatives of the "Mantashyants" Business Club participated in a meeting organized at the initiative of Babken Tunyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia.

The meeting was attended by historians from the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, representatives from the Ministries of Economy and Finance, as well as representatives from the office of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

The discussion focused on the recent concerns raised by the business community, particularly regarding the excessively stringent and, in some cases, disproportionate approach of the State Revenue Committee and investigative bodies, reflected in the growing number of criminal cases and arrests involving entrepreneurs.

The primary aim of the meeting was to develop mechanisms, through joint discussions and legislative and institutional reforms, to prevent the recurrence of such cases and to ensure a balanced and predictable business environment.

The representatives of the Club presented the views of the business community, emphasizing the need for legal clarity, predictability, and a cooperative attitude between businesses and government institutions.

During the discussion, both sides agreed to continue holding meetings of this format to ensure open and responsible cooperation.

At the same time, it was agreed that the opinion and recommendations of the business community should be prioritized in the development and adoption of systemic decisions related to business, as an inseparable part of effective economic policy.
