History of the club’s establishment

In January 2019, the Mantashyants Business Club was established. Initially, it was named the “Mantashov Union” in honor of the prominent Armenian entrepreneur and philanthropist Alexander Mantashyants.

  • The primary goal of the club was to address the specific characteristics of Armenia’s business environment and the need for a new business culture.

It was founded as a platform to bring Armenian entrepreneurs together, foster collaboration, and encourage mutual support within the business community.

However, the club faced a number of challenges in its early stages. According to the founders, the Armenian business environment in 2018–2019 was often marked by a lack of trust, which hindered the development of collaborative platforms.

The founders had to invest significant effort into gaining the trust of the business community and attracting members to their initiative.

  • Another major issue was the absence of a stable and well-established business culture. The lack of innovative business ecosystems and initiatives made it difficult for the club to fully take shape.

Additionally, the negative reputation of certain business figures in Armenia often cast a shadow over others, creating further obstacles to the growth of Armenian entrepreneurship.

Despite these challenges, over time, club members proved that with joint efforts it is possible to achieve the main goal — empowering Armenian entrepreneurs worldwide to overcome challenges and pursue new opportunities.

Another critical mission was to strengthen Armenian businesses globally, enabling them to support the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people.

During the first phase of development, throughout 2019, the founders focused on solving key issues. One of the main priorities was to define clear membership criteria and identify the qualities expected of potential candidates. The most difficult part was recruiting the first 100 members — a milestone that laid the foundation for further growth. Today, many entrepreneurs are learning about the club and actively seeking to join.

Now, the Mantashyants Business Club has established branches in major cities across the globe. Guided by the philosophy “WE is stronger than I,” the club continues to grow and evolve every day.
